Programs

A comprehensive recovery deserves comprehensive support.

FEMPO brings together four complementary pillars to respond to needs that may arise before, during and after breast cancer treatment. Our programs combine clinical safety, emotional support, reliable information and long-term collaboration. Care and eligibility are defined on an individual basis, always respecting each woman's wishes and well-being.

01 · Oncological breast reconstruction program

Nipple-areola complex reconstruction

Reconstruction of the nipple-areola complex (NAC) through oncological breast dermopigmentation is a reconstructive option for patients with a history of mastectomy due to breast cancer who meet the relevant clinical conditions. The procedure is planned after a specialized assessment and a review of relevant medical history, including previous treatments and the condition of the tissue.

At FEMPO we do not see this treatment as a simple aesthetic resource. It is a practice that can contribute to the recovery of body image, as long as it is carried out with appropriate safety standards, informed consent and realistic expectations. Free treatments are provided according to the places, selection criteria and resources available in each program.

Eligibility and safety. Every candidate goes through a guidance and eligibility process. NAC reconstruction requires a favorable professional assessment and clearance or authorization from the treating medical team when applicable, as well as compliance with clinical protocols, safety conditions and informed consent. A referral or request does not replace the eligibility assessment.
02 · Psycho-oncology

A professional space to work through what has been lived

A cancer diagnosis can profoundly change a person's emotional life and that of their family. Psycho-oncology offers a professional space to work through uncertainty, bodily changes, grief, fears and the challenges of adapting.

FEMPO's support is built on listening, without assuming that all patients have the same needs. It can begin at diagnosis, continue during treatment or take place afterwards. It focuses on strengthening personal resources, encouraging adaptation and supporting each woman's relationship with her own body image, from a perspective of respect and autonomy.

How it works

Care programs may include an initial cycle of six individual 50-minute sessions, in person or online, depending on professional assessment, accessibility, availability and the conditions of each agreement. Continuation is reviewed individually. Rescheduling and use of places aim to balance fair access with the flexibility required by medical and personal circumstances.

03 · Education, prevention and early detection

Information that helps people seek care in time

Education helps more people recognize warning signs, access reliable information and seek care in time. FEMPO runs talks, workshops and awareness activities for women, communities, workers and municipal staff.

We promote early detection and guidance towards health networks, following the recommendations of health teams. These actions raise awareness and encourage timely access, without attributing to them, on their own, a quantified reduction in mortality.

04 · Sustainability and ongoing programs

Continuity is part of the impact

That is why we work to establish annual programs with objectives, territorial planning, referral criteria, people in charge, technical and human resources, evaluation of results and improvement mechanisms.

Alliances with municipalities, health institutions, universities and companies can turn a one-off initiative into a sustained care pathway. Our purpose is to build shared capacities, respecting the remit and procedures of each institution.
